Jared Boxx a.k.a. JBX of the world-famous ‘Big City Records’ record store in New York has hooked us up with one of his fine mixes. This one’s for the hiphop fans. Located in Manhatten at 521 E 12th St (between Avenues A and B in the east Village), Big City is well known amongst the cream of hiphop producers as well as your average vinyl junkie as a valuable source of unmined breaks and beats, latest releases and general vinyl goodness spanning disco, soul, funk and hiphop.

Jared is one of the east coast’s most consistent record dealers over the past 10 years honing his trade in New York’s well known ‘Sound Library’ before moving on to open his own boutique store in Alphabet City, Big City records.

For deep flavours and samples galore Jared is the man. Chances are some of the hiphop records you know and love came to life after Jared put some unsuspecting producer on to a lick, bassline or drum loop that could have stayed hidden if it wasn’t for this man’s dusty fingers and knowledge of records.
