Whodini.  One of the old school greats.  Right up there with Run DMC and Kurtis Blow.  These guys were all about the original hiphop band – no samplers around when this was recorded. Considering they cost a gazillion dollars at the time and came packaged with a dude to operate it for you in the studio it’s not too likely Whodini were rocking one in 1982 .  Check out “Magic’s Wand” though – There’s enough funk in the trunk on this track to make you want to reconsider it’s classification to Disco. 

What’s important about this track is that Magic’s Wand was the first hiphop song to have an accompanying video.  This track originally came out on Jive in 1982 as a 12″ (Cat No. VJ12008).
